The Green House in Utrecht

We werden hartelijk ontvangen en hadden een mooie plek bij het raam.
De sfeer voelde meteen goed en GELUKKIG geen muziek.
Het eten was heerlijk maar misschien iets te snel opgediend.
We hadden alle tijd en waren niet bedacht op zón snelheid.
We gaan het zeker aanbevelen bij anderen.

Came here to try out this hip and happening new hotspot;they opened 1,5 years ago and their mission had our sympathy.

We both tried the 4 course tasting menu at €42 p.p..
The first course was an utter disgrace: some diced tomatoes, rucola, pine seeds and some dressing. This course was NOT restaurant-worthy at all, and to top things off it was very, very little indeed. Not worth more than €2

The second course was some broccoli chunks with goat's cheese;nothing special. Uninspired and too simple.

The third course was mushrooms and sellery with some sauce; again, nothing special. Or shall I say: not even good enough for a highway diner.

Things got a bit better with the fourth and last coursein terms of portion size only, but that was that. Again, it was just some rustic bistro food, nothing intricate or special.

Furthermore, we had to wait half an hour at arrival to be seated, despite a reservation. The worst thing was that we had to wait 40(fourthy) minutes for each course on average.

One waitress was friendly and worked hard to amend things, but to no avail. Such a shame for such a nice looking hotspot with an admirable mission.
